About Me

If you’re looking for Registered Massage Therapy, you’re in the right place.

Hello! I’m Cat

Registered Massage Therapist

From the start of my career 15 years ago, one constant remains; the number one reason for getting a massage is to FEEL BETTER. Whether it be mental, emotional or physical stress, all can be positively impacted by regular Massage Therapy. In addition to traditional Swedish and deep tissue massage, I’ve developed my style to include both direct and indirect Myofascial techniques to treat connective tissues. I use Rhythmic Mobilizations and Joint Play for relaxation, flexibility and overall joint maintenance. For Visceral assessment and treatment, I use gentle but profound holding techniques. Using a safe, slow and skilled touch is a key ingredient in supporting your nervous system to settle into deep relaxation.

When we are disconnected from our body, we leave ourselves vulnerable for injury and various states of “dis-ease”. With regular Massage Therapy, a deeper sense of body awareness can develop. As it does, so will your connection between mind and body.

My Education

Catherine graduated from Sutherand-Chan Massage and Teaching Clinic in 2004. She continues her education by attending workshops several times a year to stay current in health and healing approaches.

Techniques Used

Each massage is tailored to your current symptoms, pain threshold, general health and experience with massage.

Swedish/Relaxation Deep Tissue

It is the most popular massage in the Western world. It uses gliding, kneading, muscle squeezing and trigger point therapy to increase circulation and flexibility and reduce inflammation and pain. Pressure can be light or deep and the rhythm fast or slow depending on the desired effect.

Myofascial Release

The intent is to change the viscosity of the ground substance of fascia which is a three-dimensional web of connective tissue which surrounds every organ, muscle, bone, nerve and blood vessel of our body. The techniques can vary from gentle holds to deep skin rolling.

Rhythmic Mobilizations & Joint Play

A thoughtful series of movements (rocking and shaking) that are gradually increased and maintained to stretch the tissues which increases mobilization and relaxation. When integrated with joint play the techniques can reduced pain, increase range of motion and help maintain joint health.

Visceral Manipulation

Treating abdominal adhesions helps the body correct tension patterns that affect not only the viscera but often the whole body. It is a gentle manual therapy that works through the visceral or internal organ systems to locate and release restrictions and unhealthy compensations that lead to pain and dysfunction.
